The PGA Tour season gets deeper into the West Coast Swing, with the 2025 WM Phoenix Open starting on Thursday at TPC Scottsdale in Scottsdale, Arizona.
My PGA Tour field ranking for the WM Phoenix Open looks at the top 10 players in this 132-player field that brings together the PGA Tour's top 125 from last season and some others.
The WM Phoenix Open is a unique event with the crowd and atmosphere, though that's largely expected to be scaled back in some way from prior years -- especially last year.
TPC Scottsdale is an interesting course in that there are a bunch of scorable, easy holes, and then there are a bunch of genuinely challenging holes. Still, players have to go very deep under par to win here.
Just a reminder that I make my expert picks looking at all fantasy leagues and formats. Whether you're playing in a fantasy golf leagues, betting on golf, or competing in a DFS (DraftKings, FanDuel) event, our picks highlight the top PGA Tour golfers to watch this week from our 2025 WM Phoenix Open rankings.
2025 WM Phoenix Open expert picks and rankings
1. Scottie Scheffler: Scheffler was T-9 coming off ring rust and hand surgery? He'll win again soon.
2. Hideki Matsuyama: Hideki had a steady week at Pebble, but that didn't work so well when the winner was -21.
3. Justin Thomas: JT is the best horse-for-course play this week, though he faded after a good start at Pebble.
4. Nick Taylor: Taylor should be on your list this week as a past winner and a current winner in 2025.
5. Sepp Straka: Straka won The AmEx and had a good run in front at Pebble. He's on one right now with a better putting approach.

6. Billy Horschel: Horschel has a good TPC Scottsdale record, seems to get along fine with the zaniness of the event and was solid at Pebble.
7. Sam Burns: Burns was T-22 at Pebble Beach, and he seems to play his best golf in the southern half of the United States.
8. Sungjae Im: Sungjae was OK last week, coming off a great week at Torrey Pines. Has a T-6 here from two years ago.
9. Tom Kim: Kim thrived at TGL, then went across the country and played well at Pebble. Scottsdale should vibe with him.
10. Andrew Novak: Novak won the pro-am at Pebble, finished T-13 and was strong at Torrey Pines. Keep it rolling.
