PGA Tour one-and-done is perhaps the best fantasy golf game, with season-long leagues that give players a chance to pick one player for each tournament in the league season.

Once again in 2026, we offer weekly PGA Tour one-and-done golf picks for leagues of all kinds, including survivor leagues where the selected player must make the cut for the entry to continue to the next tournament.

We continue our 2026 PGA Tour one-and-done picks with the 2026 Valspar Championship, concluding at the 2026 Tour Championship, keeping track of our picks all along the way.

Before we begin, if you're not familiar with game, read this primer on the one-and-done fantasy golf format, and welcome to the game. It really is as easy as it sounds, but you have to take a long-term view of the season to figure out how best to use players.

This week, we have the Valspar Championship, with the PGA Tour moving to Tampa for a tournament beloved by a lot of players because the host course is a challenge they like.

It's Valspar Championship week, and the 135-player field this week is taking on one of the best ballstriking tests on Tour. A player has to be able to hit a variety of shots, particularly with mid and long irons.

Last week was the first week this year that we didn't have a good beat on who was going to win. It's a good thing we didn't waste Rory or Scottie, still making some money at least with Si Woo Kim. It's usually not a good idea to infer a lot about the year from The Players, but Cam Young putting clutch on Sunday may change some minds about his game.

2026 Valspar Championship One and Done picks

  • Justin Thomas: JT looked good last week -- way better than coming back at Bay Hill -- and has a knack for this golf course.
  • Xander Schauffele: Xander makes a world of sense this week given his improving form and affinity for Innisbrook. But do you use him in a bigger money-value event?
  • Brooks Koepka: Koepka has been strong twice in a row, and you don't have to be the best putter to win here.
  • Viktor Hovland: Hovland is the defending champion on a course that has a propsenity to crown repeat winners, and he's played well of late.

My pick this week is Viktor Hovland.
