FOLLOW: iHEART | TUNEIN

The 2017 Safeway Open betting odds have been released for the week at Silverado Resort in Napa, Calif.

The betting favorite is Phil Mickelson, believe it or not, who is at 16-to-1 (+1600) betting odds on the eve of the event. Tony Finau is at 16-to-1, as well, depending on where you're shopping.

Webb Simpson is next best at 18-to-1, with Kevin Na, Ryan Moore and Zach Johnson all at 25-to-1 betting odds.

2017 Safeway Open expert picks

If you're looking for someone to wager on at this week's Safeway Open, then we have three expert picks for you: our favorite, our sleeper and our longshot.

  • Favorite: Webb Simpson -- Simpson was hot in the playoffs and just prior in Greensboro, so 18-to-1 really has him at best form and a good price among the favorites under 20-to-1.
  • Sleeper: Peter Uihlein -- Uihlein could very easily win in the fall events of the schedule. He's not always great from week to week, but his best is as good as anyone's in this field.
  • Longshot: Keith Mitchell -- Mitchell came on late to nearly grab his PGA Tour status through the Web.com Tour regular season, but his power-anchored game should help him fare well all season.
