The 2017 Safeway Open field is set with the passing of the typical Friday entry deadline. However, scores of spots remain uncommitted as the Web.com Tour Championship hasn't yet finished and will determine 25 PGA Tour cards for the new season, which kicks off at Silverado Resort in Napa, Calif. When the event finishes on Monday, most of those players will commit to the event, as will the 25 Web.com Tour regular season graduates.
The Safeway Open field is headlined by Phil Mickelson, Webb Simpson, defending champion Brendan Steele and Bill Haas.
We do not yet know the four Monday qualifiers for this event.
