The PGA Tour this week features the 2025 The Players Championship starting on Thursday at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.

My PGA Tour field ranking for The Players Championship looks at the top 10 players in this 144-player field that brings together the PGA Tour's best, as well as practically all of the top 50 players in the world (even Laurie Canter from the DP World Tour).

2025 The Players Championship: Tournament Model | Field | Rankings | Horses for Courses | DFS Picks | Betting Odds | One and Done | Course Breakdown | Past Results | Cheat Sheet | Recent Form | Finish Database

The Players Championship is the crown jewel event of the PGA Tour schedule, and 48 of the world top 50 are in the field. TPC Sawgrass is a tremendous course, with the Stadium Course showing truly no favor to any particular player.

Just a reminder that I make my expert picks looking at all fantasy leagues and formats. Whether you're playing in a fantasy golf leagues, betting on golf, or competing in a DFS (DraftKings, FanDuel) event, our picks highlight the top PGA Tour golfers to watch this week from our 2025 The Players Championship rankings.

2025 The Players Championship expert picks and rankings

1. Scottie Scheffler: The world No. 1 finished T-11 at Bay Hill, and he's going for an insane three-peat here, but he's still No. 1.

2. Rory McIlroy: McIlroy is the clear No. 2, and getting the new drivers out of the bag for Sunday suggests some equipment clarity that's good.

3. Ludvig Aberg: Ludvig had a skunky Saturday at Bay Hill, and then he figured it out on Sunday to a good degree.

4. Collin Morikawa: I've long said that this is a place for Morikawa to shine. He got pipped by Henley with that 16th hole eagle on Sunday.

5. Hideki Matsuyama: Hideki had a good-enough Sunday at Bay Hill, and he's been in the top six here the last two years.

6. Sepp Straka: Straka just keeps showing up, contending and playing well. Why fight it?

7. Russell Henley: Henley is probably gassed after that Sunday battle in Orlando, but he's playing the best golf of his career.

8. Keegan Bradley: The Captain had a great Sunday, and his ballstriking has been fantastic for the last nine months.

9. Xander Schauffele: This is as much a respect play as anything. He's still a bit out of it in terms of form.

10. Shane Lowry: I'm probably too high on Lowry for this particular venue, but I love him on the tougher, gnarly courses.
