PGA Tour one-and-done is perhaps the best fantasy golf game, with season-long leagues that give players a chance to pick one player for each tournament in the league season.
Once again in 2026, we offer weekly PGA Tour one-and-done golf picks for leagues of all kinds, including survivor leagues where the selected player must make the cut for the entry to continue to the next tournament.
We continue our 2026 PGA Tour one-and-done picks with the 2026 The American Express, concluding at the 2026 Tour Championship, keeping track of our picks all along the way.
Before we begin, if you're not familiar with game, read this primer on the one-and-done fantasy golf format, and welcome to the game. It really is as easy as it sounds, but you have to take a long-term view of the season to figure out how best to use players.
This week, we have the The American Express, with the PGA Tour kicking off its season in the California desert with a 156-player tournament at three courses.

It's The American Express week, and the 156-player field this week is a strong start to the year. Remember, these courses are very short by PGA Tour standards and will give up a lot of birdies and eagles.
We want to save our best players for the Signature events and majors in most formats, so let's not think about Scottie Scheffler, for example.
2026 The American Express One and Done picks
- Ben Griffin: Griffin has been in the top 9 here the last two years, so he would be a decent pick.
- Ryan Gerard: His one PGA Tour win is in northern California, and he's been playing solid worldwide golf.
- Sam Burns: Burns has a good record in this tournament, though not as much more recently.
- Patrick Cantlay: Cantlay tends to do his damage early and late in the season, and I think I love him here.
My pick this week is Ryan Gerard.
