Tony Finau is going to play in TGL next week, for just one week only.

The league announced that Finau has signed a one-match contract to compete for Los Angeles Golf Club on Feb. 24 against New York Golf
Club. The match airs at 5 p.m. Eastern on ESPN2.

Los Angeles Golf Club team members Justin Rose and Tommy Fleetwood both have prior commitments to spend time with family and are unavailable for Monday’s match, leaving LAGC with two available players (Sahith Theegala and Collin Morikawa).

“I’ve watched many of the TGL matches these past six weeks and I’m looking forward to getting a chance to be a part of it and compete. Team golf is always fun and exciting,” Finau said.

“Collin, Sahith, Justin and Tommy are great guys that I respect and enjoy being around. I appreciate Los Angeles Golf Club calling me up for this match. I’m excited to get to SoFi Center. The place looks electric, and I can't wait to see it all first-hand and practice with the team. Monday is going to be a fun night.”

TGL has sought to be complementary to the PGA Tour and be flexible to player schedules, including anticipating planned off-weeks. Under TGL rules, if a “starting” player (three of four players are selected for each match) is unable to compete, teams are allowed to select a new
player to take their place, provided they're a PGA Tour member in good standing.

“We were aware that Justin and Tommy would take this week abroad to spend time with family, which created a unique opportunity for us to have Tony join LAGC for this match,” said Neal Hubman, Co-Founder and President of LAGC.

“Tony is one of the most well-liked players in the game and has dedicated significant time and energy to make golf more accessible and available to youth, which aligns with LAGC’s efforts. We look forward to welcoming him to the LAGC family and helping us secure a playoff berth.”

Los Angeles Golf Club is in second place among the six TGL teams through three of five regular-season matches played. The top four teams in the standings after the round-robin regular-season slate make the semifinal round of the playoffs.

Finau, a six-time PGA Tour winner, has three top-15 finishes this season on the PGA Tour. He was a member of the US Ryder Cup team in 2018 and 2021, with a 3-3-0 record. He also was a member of three Presidents Cup teams in 2019, 2022 and 2024, earning a 5-4-0 record in those appearances.
