2025 The American Express: PGA Tour one-and-done fantasy golf picks

PGA Tour one-and-done is perhaps the best fantasy golf game, with season-long leagues that give players a chance to pick one player for each tournament in the league season.

Once again in 2025, we offer weekly PGA Tour one-and-done golf picks for leagues of all kinds, including survivor leagues where the selected player must make the cut for the entry to continue to the next tournament.

We continue our 2025 PGA Tour one-and-done picks with the 2025 The American Express, concluding at the 2025 Tour Championship, keeping track of our picks all along the way.

Before we begin, if you're not familiar with game, read this primer on the one-and-done fantasy golf format, and welcome to the game. It really is as easy as it sounds, but you have to take a long-term view of the season to figure out how best to use players.

This week, we have the The American Express, with a 156-player field taking on unique challenges on a three-course rotation with a pro-am component for three rounds. PGA West Stadium Course used to seem much more fearsome than it is these days, and this is a go-low tournament typically played in almost perfect conditions.

Remember that then-amateur Nick Dunlap held off a lot of great players here last year to win in dramatic fashion. With almost 20 of the world top 50 playing this week, there's plenty of depth to like. However, at standard points and with an $8.8 million purse, leaning into a top-25 player here is tricky.

My one-and-done recommendations fall into one of two categories: players who are in current form and those who have great course experience. This week, I won't talk about current form because almost all of these players have played once or fewer in the last month. As the season gets going, though, that current form category will be probably more important than course history.

Last week, we had a sweat on Sunday for Keegan Bradley to win, but he went sideways after making that big Saturday move. Still, it was an excellent week.

2025 The Sentry One and Done picks

Course history

  • Sam Burns: Been in the top 15 here quite a bit, and he loves that dome golf that they play in the desert.
  • Christiaan Bezuidenhout: Runner-up here last year and a T-11 the year prior. Not the best start at The Sentry, though.
  • Sungjae Im: Sungjae plays great in this tournament and was third in The Sentry. Probably a fair place to use him.
  • Sepp Straka: Straka played impressive golf at the Sony Open and just needs to see some putts go in. (This replaced Xander Schauffele, who was mentioned here previously.)

My pick this week is Sungjae Im.
