You've probably noticed Michelle Wie is wearing two pieces of tape on her left leg during the 2014 U.S. Women's Open. Clearly, it's had no impact on her game whatsoever, but why is she wearing it at all?

Wie addressed the purpose of the tape in her pre-tournament news conference on Tuesday.

"It's just a nagging problem that I've had for a little bit," Wie said. "The tape makes it looks a lot worse than it actually is. It just is helping my muscles to fire the right way, trying to get it aligned better. So, yeah, it's definitely helping."

Now 24, Wie lamented her body doesn't quite hold up now like it did when she was first thrust on this big of a stage in her pre-teens.

She quipped, "I just feel like I'm getting old and not 13 anymore and tapeless."
