Ernie Els swaps out Tiger’s tournament for Sun City

Ernie Els is swapping out Tiger Woods' Northwestern Mutual World Challenge for the Nedbank Golf Challenge in his native South Africa.

Els made the switch citing a "family" decision. It'll mark the 17th consecutive year Els has played in the 30-player event in Sun City, a tournament he's won three times.

Dustin Johnson will replace Els in Woods' annual 18-player December event at Sherwood C.C. in California. Players are invited to the Woods event based on the Official World Golf Ranking. After winning the WGC-HSBC Champions, Johnson is now ranked 12th in the world.

The Northwestern Mutual World Challenge and Nedbank Golf Challenge will be played Dec. 5-8.
