The LPGA Tour will have a new official event in Grand Rapids, Mich., in 2014 -- but it's a familiar stop.

On Friday, the Tour will announce the creation of the Meijer LPGA Classic, set to be played next August at Blythefield C.C. in nearby Belmont, according to mlive.com. Meijer is a hypermarket chain based in the state. Golfweek first reported the tournament's formation was close to being finalized in September.

The new tournament will benefit Meijer's Simply Give program, helping food banks throughout the Midwest.

The Meijer Charity Pro-Am has been an unofficial event attracting a number of LPGA Tour regulars for the last decade.
