What’s Wrong With Tiger Woods, Vol. 1: He’s overcoached

Seeing as though Track Tiger is a website dedicated to all things Tiger Woods -- yes, including space for his critics -- it only seemed fitting to chronicle the litany of theories spewed daily as to why Tiger Woods isn't winning majors, tournaments, at life.

The first installment of What's Wrong With Tiger Woods features Golf Channel analyst and noted Sean Foley hater, Brandel Chamblee.

In a media conference call to preview the network's coverage of the BMW Championship and Tour Championship to close out the FedEx Cup Playoffs, Chamblee said he feels Tiger Woods is "overcoached" by Sean Foley.

"I think he's got way too much going on," said Chamblee. "It's a very complicated golf swing that he's trying to work on, that much fold, shaft lean, the down and the up that he has, the excessive down, the excessive up; you know, his driver might as well be a dead mackerel wrapped in newspaper at the moment. It's just awful watching him hit that golf club, just awful. It's really fun to watch guys like (Graham) DeLaet and (Henrik) Stenson and Adam Scott drive the golf ball. So yes, I definitely think Tiger Woods is overcoached."

In other words, Tiger Woods is too technical, Chamblee thinks, but the analyst loves watching guys like Graham DeLaet hit the ball because they don't receive a lot of coaching. DeLaet is an incredible ballstriker, but who has five PGA Tour wins this year? Not the Canadian.
