The Rocket Classic has a pretty solid 144-player field taking on what should be a birdiefest all week.
Right now, I'm on a bad run. I kind of boxed myself in with great picks early in the year, and then I've gone with hot hands of late. They haven't been all bad, but some of the guys I thought would deliver based on current performance -- particularly younger players -- then clammed up some. It's the nature of the game.
2026 Rocket Classic One and Done picks
- Cam Davis: I have to mention him as the lone, true horse-for-course play, but please don't use him. (Taylor Moore and Stephan Jaeger are other HFCs, and their form is each also bad.)
- Taylor Pendrith: Pendrith has played well at this venue in the past, but do you gamble that the guy who was runner-up at ISCO shows up instead of the guy who has MC'd in three of his last four?
- Cam Young: Young has two top-six finishes in this event, and he just had a great run at the Open.
- Marco Penge: Penge is making his first US start since May, but he's come back pretty well fro injury and loves banging it around the yard.
