The Sony Open in Hawaii is the start of the year, featuring 24 fewer players than last year as the PGA Tour revamps field sizes to get fields through those first two rounds. Waialae Country Club is a shorter test, but the Seth Raynor design still holds up with tricky rough, stiff angles and challenging greens.
Just a reminder that I make my expert picks looking at all fantasy leagues and formats. Whether you're playing in a fantasy golf leagues, betting on golf, or competing in a DFS (DraftKings, FanDuel) event, our picks highlight the top PGA Tour golfers to watch this week from our 2026 Sony Open in Hawaii rankings.
2026 Sony Open in Hawaii expert picks and rankings
1. Russell Henley: Henley is the biggest horse-for-course play this week, though it's not by a huge margin over two other players on this list.
2. Keegan Bradley: Bradley had himself a decent little offseason, and he has been in the top 12 here in three of the last four years.
3. Hideki Matsuyama: Hideki had himself a nice finish to last year, with a win at the Hero and good finishes in a pair of starts in Japan and South Korea.
4. JJ Spaun: Spaun fared well at the Hero World Challenge and had a good pair of fall finishes. He could've sealed the deal here last year.
5. Ben Griffin: Griffin has a lot to live up to after a career year last year, but he got married in the offseason, won in the fall and should be happy.

6. Nick Taylor: Taylor is the defending champion, and that win didn't come out of nowhere because he's played great golf here.
7. Robert MacIntyre: Bobby Mac won the Dunhill Links and put up other good results in the DP World Tour's closing months last year. This course should suit his style.
8. Si Woo Kim: After rejecting LIV Golf and making it pretty public, Si Woo is probably pumped to get out there and try to get another Waialae win.
9. Nico Echavarria: Echavarria played well and fairly often throughout the FedEx Cup Fall, and he has a decent record here the makes him a worthwhile longer shot.
10. Corey Conners: This feels like a place where Corey Conners should be great, particularly with his ballstriking.
