The PGA Tour this week features the 2025 BMW Championship starting on Thursday at Caves Valley Golf Club in Owings Mills, Maryland.

My PGA Tour field ranking for BMW Championship looks at the top 10 players in this 50-player field that brings together the best in the world for the middle leg of PGA Tour's FedEx Cup playoffs.

The BMW Championship is back and the top 50 in the points standings compete in the second leg of the playoffs -- the one that moves around a bit. Caves Valley is beautiful and fun and kind of easy for the best in the world. There are some demanding shots, but these players can handle them.

Just a reminder that I make my expert picks looking at all fantasy leagues and formats. Whether you're playing in a fantasy golf leagues, betting on golf, or competing in a DFS (DraftKings, FanDuel) event, our picks highlight the top PGA Tour golfers to watch this week from our 2025 BMW Championship rankings.

2025 BMW Championship expert picks and rankings

1. Scottie Scheffler: Are you betting against this guy anywhere? He's the best in the world and comes off a few weeks of rest.

2. Rory McIlroy: McIlroy should feel pretty good at Caves Valley, and he's got an extra week of rest that didn't cost him a spot in the rankings.

3. Justin Rose: Rose still has it at 45 years old, and he was rock solid when the biggest pressure was applied.

4. Collin Morikawa: Morikawa is still a horrific putter, but his ballstriking can carry him a lot of the time. Putting will be a struggle for many this week, at least in terms of Strokes Gained Putting.

5. Xander Schauffele: Schauffele might be getting closer to his best, and he has a motivation this week to get to East Lake as a way of finding good in this season.

6. Matt Fitzpatrick: Fitz has plenty of pop in the bat to handle the length of Caves Valley, and his all-around game has been strong.

7. Cameron Young: Now that's finally won, does he just go on a tear? He was great in Memphis, and Caves should suit his game.

8. Tommy Fleetwood: Fleetwood has been heartbreakingly close to breakthrough wins in the last three months, and he keeps soldiering on.

9. JJ Spaun: OK, Spaun has demonstated twice now post-US Open win that he's to be taken quite seriously.

10. Ludvig Aberg: Aberg has been putting together some great results of late, and this wider ballpark should help his game.
