2025 British Open Championship, Barracuda Championship: PGA Tour one-and-done fantasy golf picks

PGA Tour one-and-done is perhaps the best fantasy golf game, with season-long leagues that give players a chance to pick one player for each tournament in the league season.

Once again in 2025, we offer weekly PGA Tour one-and-done golf picks for leagues of all kinds, including survivor leagues where the selected player mUSt make the cut for the entry to continue to the next tournament.

We continue our 2025 PGA Tour one-and-done picks with the 2025 British Open Championship and Barracuda Championship, concluding at the 2025 Tour Championship, keeping track of our picks all along the way.

Before we begin, if you're not familiar with game, read this primer on the one-and-done fantasy golf format, and welcome to the game. It really is as easy as it sounds, but you have to take a long-term view of the season to figure out how best to USe players.

This week, we have the British Open Championship, with the PGA Tour playing its final major of the year in Northern Ireland at Royal Portrush. We also have the Barracuda Championship, the Stableford event in California, near Tahoe.

It's British Open Championship week, and it's hard to believe this is the last major of the year already, with one of the best major field of the year taking on Royal Portrush as a follow-on to the 2019 beauty.

Over in California, we have a new home for the Barracuda Championship, and you would expect the players in the field to try to go low in what could be the final year for the modified Stableford event.

We've had four good ones in a row, with Viktor Hovland having himself a nice week.

2025 British Open Championship One and Done picks

  • Scottie Scheffler: Whenever Scottie plays, he should be recommended, but there are definitely better spots down the stretch to use him.
  • Rory McIlroy: He had a look at winning in Scotland against Chris Gotterup, and he'll be moved to do better in his home country than 2019.
  • Matt Fitzpatrick: Fitz is clearly back and in good form, and that might make him an interesting sneaky pick this week.
  • Viktor Hovland: I have a sneaky good feeling about Hovland the next few weeks, but I played that last week.

My pick this week is Matt Fitzpatrick.

2025 Barracuda Championship One and Done picks

  • Ryan Gerard: Gerard has been building to a win all year, and he's probably the best player in this field currently.
  • Davis Riley: Riley is the highest-ranked player in this field, and deserved so, so he should stand out.
  • Quade Cummins: He's been doing well between the PGA Tour and Korn Ferry Tour, and I'd expect that to continue.
  • Rico Hoey: Hoey has been enjoying a great year, and if he gets off to a great start, then look out.

My pick this week is Ryan Gerard.
