On Sunday at TPC Sawgrass' Players Stadium Course in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, the 2025 The Players Championship will be decided at one of the toughest courses on the 2025 PGA Tour schedule.

The winner's share of The Players Championship 2025 purse is a lot of money, and the first-place payout is commensurate with winning the biggest event on the PGA Tour.

The 2025 The Players Championship purse is $25 million, which is the same as 2024.

Scheffler won $4,500,000 as the 2023 The Players Championship winner, winning the title a year after his first major win in the 2022 Masters.

The year prior, Cam Smith won $3,600,000 as the 2022 The Players Championship winner's share in winning the event for his biggest PGA Tour win at the time.

In this event, every player finishing the event earns official prize money, with the last-place finishing professional earning $50,250. Every player making the cut also earns FedEx Cup points, with the winner receiving 750 points. The winner receives 80 Official World Golf Ranking points.

The biggest purse in professional golf belongs to The Players Championship, which is currently at $25 million. The first two FedEx Cup playoff events and nine PGA Tour Signature events are tied for second best with a $20 million purse each.

The tournament with the highest first-place payout in all of professional golf is also The Players Championship, whose 2025 champion will win $4,500,000, making it the biggest first-place payout in all of golf.

The three player-hosted Signature events -- The Genesis Invitational, the Arnold Palmer Invitational and the Memorial Tournament -- all offer $4 million first-place prizes to the champions.
