Emiliano Grillo excited the massive crowd at TPC Scottsdale on Friday when he made the 12th ace on the famous par-3 16th in the history of the WM Phoenix Open.
Playing the hole at 155 yards in the second round, Grillo used a short iron to slam-dunk his tee shot right into the hole. The ball spun around in the cup and appeared to nearly leap out several times as the ball 360'd around the cup. Ultimately, though, it reached the bottom of the cup for an eagle.
Grillo threw the club he used up in the air and ran around on the tee box in pure joy. He then ran back to his caddie and playing partner, Rafa Campos, jumping off the ground in celebration.

The fans at the tee and at the green started throwing aluminum beer bottles toward the playing surfaces as beer sprayed all over. The tournament staff took time to clear everything away from the green area before Seamus Power hit as the third person in the group.
The hole-in-one took Grillo from 1 under for the tournament to 3 under par.
This is the first hole in one at the WM Phoenix Open in three years. Back in 2022, Sam Ryder and Carlos Ortiz made aces in back-to-back rounds at the best-attended event on the PGA Tour scheudule.
TPC Scottsdale's Stadium Course became home to the tournament in 1987, meaning there's been an ace on the par-3 16th about every three years.
