The 132-player field competes in the only PGA Tour event of the year in Arizona, with players earning their way into the field based on the PGA Tour's FedEx Cup standings and the FedEx Cup Fall standings.

A cut is made after 36 holes to the top 65 players and ties. All players who finish four rounds of the tournament will earn money.

The prize-money payout is typically based on exactly 65 players making the cut and finishing the tournament. When more than 65 pros make the cut, the purse is increased to make sure every player is paid.
