Jordan Spieth completed one of the most shocking meltdowns in the history of golf on Sunday at the 2016 Masters, putting two balls in the water on the par-3 12th, losing the lead there with a quadruple-bogey 7. Spieth tried to rally but a bogey on the 17th hole did in his chances. He finished tied for second with 42-year-old Lee Westwood.
Meanwhile, Englishman Danny Willett thrived, shooting 5-under 67 on Sunday and winning his first major championship. The 28-year-old finished at 5-under 273, beating Spieth by three shots to win the $1.8 million winner's share of the $10 million purse.
Bryson DeChambeau was low amateur, making the cut along with Romain Langasque. Neither earned prize money, with the approximately $155,000 they would have earned combined spread among the pros who made the cut.
