Strokes Gained by course par

Strokes Gained by course par

In golf, courses have different total pars based on their mix of par 3s, par 4s and par 5s. Typically on the PGA Tour, there are par-70, par-71 and par-72 courses. Par-70 course typically offer fewer par 5s, while par-72 courses typically offer more (usually four).

This chart shows how PGA Tour players compare in terms of Strokes Gained categories based on par. We compare their Strokes Gained on the par for this week's PGA Tour host course versus Strokes Gained on other PGA Tour courses with different pars.

If the difference comparison is positive, than the player does better in that statistic on courses with the same par as this week's PGA Tour host. If the difference is negative, then they do worse.
