I first tried Tasc apparel back in 2019, when the brand was in its early days. Their MicroAir polo was lightweight and featured natural, sustainable materials, with a look and style that could easily transition to and from the golf course.
It had been a while since I had tried another Tasc piece, and the company recently gave me the opportunity to see what I've been missing. They sent me their Cloud polo -- which is the follow-on to that original MicroAir -- and their lightweight Carrollton hoodie. I've had both items in my rotation for the last several weeks, including rounds of golf, coaching high-school golf and at various social functions. Both pieces are fantastic, reasonably priced and really do work well everywhere.
Let's start with the Carrollton hoodie, which has quickly become one of my favorite pieces in my closet. I have my fair share of golf-performance hoodies, and I like having a range of warmth options with some. Some stretch more than others. Some are more warm than others. The Carrollton, made of 52% organic cotton, 43 percent bamboo viscose and 5 percent elastane, is such a great layering piece for when I want to have some long sleeves and just a touch additional warmth.
The Carrollton, which runs for $74, lays on the skin really light, and yet it delivers that right additional warmth I need when walking the golf course. Off the course, I could just as easily wear this as a standalone piece, almost like a T-shirt hoodie, or to the gym. It feels soft and luxurious, and it still looks great after rolling up and down the sleeves in a round of golf.

The Cloud polo starts at $88 -- which is a great price and alternative for folks who don't want to pay $100 or more for a golf shirt. There are 32 different styles for the Cloud polo, available in solids, stripes and prints of various kinds. The price of the shirt has also barely budged in six years, which is saying something considering the inflation that golfers are used to seeing in a more popular time for the sport.
The shirt is mostly made from micro modal, which is a fiber curated from beechwood trees, making them a sustainable fabric. Blend the micro modal with micro polyester and a bit of elastane, and that's the construction of the shirt. The material mix keeps the shirt light and it falls on the body like a T-shirt, but fancier -- comfortable, familiar and not tight. The shirt feels luxurious when you wear it. The micro modal has plenty of stretch. The shirts run a touch large, so if you are looking for something closer to slim fit, consider sizing down.

The polo is perfect for spring weather, though I've worn it in warmer conditions, too. The fabric dries quickly in most situations, though I wouldn't recommend playing golf in this on a 90-degree, high-humidity day if you're the kind of person who sweats a lot. (Almost every polo struggles in that situation, but the lightness of the material in the Cloud polo might leave you looking for a second shirt.) The collar has enough stiffness to it so it will hold form and not become floppy in the heat. The same is true for the button placket, so the shirt will still look like a classy polo after a long day on the course.
Tasc is a great option for golfers looking for something a little lighter, that doesn't feel as much like the modern polyester-dominant golf shirt or hoodie. It's not perfect for every situation, but it works for just about all of them.
