The PGA Tour season gets deeper into the West Coast Swing, with the 2025 Farmers Insurance Open starting on Wednesday with the two-course rotation at Torrey Pines Golf Courses near San Diego, California.
My PGA Tour field ranking for the Farmers Insurance Open looks at the top 10 players in this 156-player field that brings together the PGA Tour's exempt players from the top 125 and the Korn Ferry Tour grads from last year, which all got in this field.
The Farmers Insurance Open is a unique event in that there's a two-course rotation before the cut is after 36 holes and that there's also no strokes-gained data for one of the rounds in the event (on the North Course, for half the field each day).
This tournament is always kind of tough to predict. Torrey South is an exacting golf course, and it's really long. However, being a bomber doesn't necessarily make it a pushover. The tee shots are challenging, and the rough is typically quite juicy.
Just a reminder that I make my expert picks looking at all fantasy leagues and formats. Whether you're playing in a fantasy golf leagues, betting on golf, or competing in a DFS (DraftKings, FanDuel) event, our picks highlight the top PGA Tour golfers to watch this week from our 2025 Farmers Insurance Open rankings.
2025 Farmers Insurance Open expert picks and rankings
1. Hideki Matsuyama: Matsuyama winning at The Sentry is a great signal, but he also a solid record at Torrey Pines over the years.
2. Ludvig Aberg: Ludvig was ninth here last year, and his game should line up really well at liking this course for a long time to come.
3. Collin Morikawa: Morikawa was snake-bitten again at Kapalua, but a lot of his game looked great.
4. Will Zalatoris: This may be aggressive early-calling it, but Zalatoris loves Torrey, and there's some limited evidence that the added bulk may be a good thing.
5. Sungjae Im: Im has played well here, and he's overall playing well. That first round at the AmEx has to be considered an outlier.

6. Max Homa: I'm cautiously optimistic that Homa is heading in the right direction based on his last four or five events. Has a strong record here.
7. Tony Finau: Finau has an enormous affinity for Torrey Pines, and his record shows it. Have to hope he knocked off some rust in the MC at the AmEx.
8. Keegan Bradley: Bradley delivered at Sony and gave himself a chance to win on the back of just one great round. If he strings them together here, look out.
9. Maverick McNealy: I don't know if that RSM win will lift the lid on many more trophies, but the form is clearly there for a home game.
10. Harry Hall: I'm still not sure where to rank Hall overall, but the overall trendline suggests Hall has found something that can stick.
