If you’re new to head-to-head matchups betting in golf, sportsbooks give bettors a variety of one-on-one or group matchups, pitting players against each other in a single round or for an entire tournament. Of course, before the tournament, we’re looking at either first-round wagers or whole-tournament wagers. If only one of the players makes the cut, then that player is the winner by default, assuming they finish.

This week, we have the The Honda Classic, and this is our first matchups column in a while. We’ve had a good run on outrights and had just gotten away from these a little bit. This week, though, there are some juicy matchups we like.

Sungjae Im (+115) over Daniel Berger: DB is tops in our model, but he’s apparently battling a rib injury, so we like Sungjae to step in here.

Cameron Tringale (+100) over Talor Gooch: I love Tringale this week for a top 5 or top 10 finish, and I’m not convinced of that on Gooch.

Brendan Steele (+105) over Russell Henley: This is a feel play given that Steele is playing well and hammers where he is a horse-for-course pick like this week.
