Stephen Curry is furthering his involvement in the world of golf, putting his resources to work to launch the first-ever golf program at Howard University in Washington, D.C.
The program will be announced on Monday in Capitol area at a press conference featuring Curry, Howard University Wayne A. I. Frederick and Howard University Athletic Director Kery Davis.
The news was made public by Casey Bannon of The Golfer's Journal.

It's unclear what Curry's involvement with the program is. It could potentially be financial support only or the two-time NBA MVP could be providing additional resources to get the program going. The program's home course will be announced Monday, making Howard the 34th Historically Black College and University (HBCU) to have a golf program.
Howard University competes in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, which sanctions men's golf teams but not women's golf at this time. The leading men's golf team in the conference is Augusta University, which won back-to-back NCAA men's national team championships in 2010 and 2011 with a deep team including Masters winner Patrick Reed. Augusta University's men's golf program is the only sport at the school which competes in the MEAC. (The women's team competes as an independent.)
Howard joins Augusta University, Bethune-Cookman University , Coppin State University, Delaware State University, Florida A&M University, University of Maryland-Eastern Shore, Morgan State University, Norfolk State University, North Carolina Central University, North Carolina A&T State University and South Carolina State University in the men's golf affiliation in the conference.

Howard has fielded golf programs in the past for men and women, including at the varsity level. However, the university is claiming this is the first-ever men's golf program, suggesting a unique level of funding or cooperation with the school's athletic department.
Curry, an avid skilled golfer, has played as an amateur in the Korn Ferry Tour' stop at TPC Stonebrae in the Bay Area in California. He also competes in the NBC-owned American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament each summer.
He is executive producer of "Holey Moley," a miniature-golf competition show airing this summer on ABC. He also has launched a golf-specific line with Under Armour.
