2018 Mayakoba Golf Classic one-and-done fantasy golf picks

With the PGA Tour deciding to offer a one-and-done fantasy golf platform, as well the increasing number of private one-and-done leagues, we here at Golf News Net will offer weekly one-and-done fantasy golf picks separate from our weekly fantasy golf rankings and picks.

We began with the 2018 Safeway Open, continue this week at the 2018 Mayakoba Golf Classic and will continue through to the Tour Championship in Atlanta in August 2019, keeping track of our picks all along the way.

Before we begin, if you're not familiar with game, read this primer on theĀ one-and-done fantasy golf format, and welcome to the game. It really is as easy as it sounds, but you have to take a long-term view of the season to figure out how best to use players.

The PGA Tour heads to Mexico for its second stop of the year, with the renamed Mayakoba Golf Classic (nee OHL Classic at Mayakoba) at El Camaleon in Playa del Carmen. Jordan Spieth and Rickie Fowler are the big headliners here, but there's a solid field of above-average players heading into the next-to-last official event of the year.

2018 Mayakoba Golf Classic One and Done picks

  • Jordan Spieth -- Spieth stumbled on the weekend in Vegas, and he seemed to have every excuse in the book. Will a few days make it better?
  • Rickie Fowler -- You're not going to use Fowler in majors, and he was pretty solid in the playoffs, so why not?
  • Gary Woodland -- Woodland is racking up high finishes like mad, and it's a good idea to use him while he's hot.
  • Emiliano Grillo -- He's obviously a quality player, but he's more of a horse-for-course play here.

My pick this week will be Emiliano Grillo. I think now's the time to get in with him, and I expect a good finish.
