The PGA Tour 2018-19 schedule became public on July 10 after a long wait and quite a bit of shuffling for new tournaments, old spaces and a change to the playoff system.

The 2018-19 PGA Tour schedule has 46 events, beginning in October with the Safeway Open out in Napa, Calif. Then the regular cast of characters flow from October and November, then into January. In February, the schedule begins to change from last year, with the West Coast Swing moving to the WGC-Mexico Championship before leading into a March Florida Swing anchored by The Players, which moves back to March from May.

Before the Masters, the Valero Texas Open takes the spotlight, with the Houston Open -- as well the Greenbrier stop -- moving to the fall portion of the 2019-20 schedule. In May, the Byron Nelson is the week before the May PGA Championship at Bethpage Black, with the renamed Colonial event called the Charles Schwab Challenge going after the Wanamaker.

The RBC Canadian Open moves from after the British Open to before the US Open, getting an upgrade in date. The two new events, the Rocket Mortgage Classic in Detroit and the 3M Open in the Minnesota Twin Cities follow the Travelers Championship.

The new WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational is played the week after the British Open in July, leading into the three-event FedEx Cup playoffs, cutting out the TPC Boston event. The PGA Tour season ends on August 25 at East Lake in Atlanta.
