TaylorMade Golf's Spider Tour putter has become their most marketable putter in recent years, and that's primarily because guys like Jason Day, Dustin Johnson, Jon Rahm and Sergio Garcia have won with it on huge stages.
The success of the putter has led to a variety of offshoots, including different colors (red, white and black), a variety of alignment options, a Mini model and even different balancing options to give golfers with arcing strokes toe-hang models.
Now the company is delving further into customization through its new MySpider Tour offering, affording golfers in upwards of 250,000 possible combinations involving different colors for practically every facet of the head, alignment markers, shaft bends and finishes, grip colors, lengths, and you can go on down the line.
The tool is easy to use, and it's simply a matter of working through desired specs in a questionnaire-style format. The putter rendering updates as choices and changes are made, and TaylorMade gets to work when an order is placed with a max three-week turnaround time.
TaylorMade's not the first company to use this kind of tool, but this makes the process accessible for a golfer and easy to use. The putters retail for $360, and, odds are, the resulting Spider Tour putter is going to be wholly unique.
