Tony Finau will play in the 2018 Masters after popping ankle back in place at the Par-3 Contest

Tony Finau will play in the 2018 Masters on Thursday after slipping and dislocating his ankle following a hole-in-one during the Wednesday Par-3 Contest.

Finau slipped and fell on the seventh hole as he turned back toward his wife and kids, who were his caddies for the day, after making the ace that sent the patrons into an uproar. Finau fell to the ground and stayed there for a moment after severely rolling his ankle. Finau popped his ankle back into place and finished his round in the Par-3 Contest.

There was some doubt Finau would be able to play, and he scheduled an MRI for Thursday morning ahead of his tee time. The MRI indicated a high-ankle sprain but no damage to suggest he couldn't or shouldn't play.

So, he'll give it a try in his first Masters appearance. The swelling is manageable, and his ankle is taped up as needed to keep it compressed and able for him to walk without much pain.
