For a lot of golfers, chipping, pitching and bunker play keep them up late at night. The short game is the first thing to go when a golfer doesn't play much, and so many once-in-a-while golfers struggle to save strokes inside 100 yards.

It's for this large segment of golfers that Cleveland Golf has made two generations of its Smart Sole equipment. Now the company has announced its Smart Sole 3 S and C wedges, offering an upgrade in their super game-improvement wedge offering.

Both wedges feature a new three-tiered sole design meant to improve turf and sand interaction on every type of short-game shot. The lofts are set to make it easier to find the green with chips, pitches and bunker shots. Cleveland brought in Feel Balancing Technology, too, to this line, bringing the center of gravity closer to where players actually hit the ball with their wedges.

The Cleveland Golf Smart Sole 3 wedges are available July 24 in steel for men and women at $120 each and in men’s graphite for $130 each.
