Jordan Spieth has switched putters, using a new Scotty Cameron model at the 2017 AT&T Byron Nelson.

Spieth has gone away from his Scotty Cameron by Titleist Newport putter to a Scotty Cameron by Titleist Futura T5W Tour Only mallet-style putter with a black finish.

Spieth used a similar putter in the 2014 Open Championship, according to Wall.

So why did Spieth make the putter change? It could be related to Spieth's relative struggles on the greens. In the last two seasons, Spieth was second and ninth on the PGA Tour in strokes gained putting. This season, he's 39th.

In eight PGA Tour events this season where strokes gained putting was measured, Spieth has lost strokes to the field on the greens twice, including losing 0.572 strokes over two rounds in missing the cut at The Players Championship. However, that's not an uncommon pace for Spieth, who had negative strokes gained putting in three events in 2016 and five events in 2015.
