SPRINGFIELD, N.J. -- Jason Day doesn't like to namedrop. He doesn't like to brag about himself...too much. However, when he's in a tight spot, especially on date night, he uses being the world No. 1 to his advantage.

Speaking at PGA Championship media day on Wednesday, Day said it was rare that he used his name and position atop the Official World Golf Ranking. The reigning PGA champion said, typically, he asks someone in his circle to make a phone call on his behalf, so they can do the namedropping and humblebragging on his behalf. But when he's in a tight spot, Day isn't afraid to make the call himself, but he's reluctant to do it for one simple reason:

"It's kinda douche-y."

The old "Do you know who I am?" is the worst. But the "Here's who I am" runs in a close second. And, for a guy who says he likes to remain out of the spotlight, not announcing his presence anywhere seems like his preference.
