Jim Furyk to return from wrist injury at Wells Fargo, The Players Championship

Jim Furyk will make his comeback from a 2015 wrist injury next week at the Wells Fargo Championship.

The 2003 U.S. Open champion made the announcement on Friday, adding that he'll also play in The Players Championship the following week in what will be a home game for the Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., native.

Furyk has been out of action since withdrawing from last September's BMW Championship after six holes with a wrist injury. He first experienced the injury two weeks prior at the Deutsche Bank Championship in a pro-am. Although he qualified for the Tour Championship and the U.S. Presidents Cup team, Furyk pulled out of both events.

The injury continued to linger longer than he originally thought, but Furyk originally chose to rest the injury rather than opting for surgery. As the injury continued, Furyk chose for surgery in February.

Furyk, who won the RBC Heritage last year for his 17th PGA Tour title, is ranked 24th in the Official World Golf Ranking.
