The Country Club of Charleston in Charleston, S.C., will host the 2019 U.S. Women’s Open Championship, the USGA announced Tuesday.
The tournament, boasting the largest purse in women's golf, will be played May 30-June 2.
This will be the second USGA championship played at the club on the heels of the 2013 U.S. Women’s Amateur.
“We are thrilled to bring the 74th U.S. Women’s Open to the Country Club of Charleston after it served as such a superb venue for the 2013 U.S. Women’s Amateur,” said Diana Murphy, USGA vice president and nominee to become association president in February.

The Seth Raynor-designed course opened in 1925, with alterations made by John LaFoy in 1990-1991 following Hurricane Hugo and additional changes designed by Brian Silva in 2007.
In addition to an outstanding pedigree in South Carolina golf, the club hosted the Charleston Open on the PGA Tour from 1933-1937, with Walter Hagen and member Henry Picard among its winners.
