European Tour, Ladies European Tour to hold events together on same venue

The Ladies European Tour has been open to trying new tournament concepts that might help it get more exposure. And in 2016, they're going to team with the European Tour to hold events together on the same venue in the same week.

On Friday, the two tours announced an agreement to present both the LET’s Lalla Meryem Cup and the European Tour’s Trophee Hassan II at Royal Golf Dar Es Salam in Morroco from May 5-8. The Euro Tour event will be played on the property's Red Course, while the LET will take over the Blue Course.

This idea furthers how the 2015 events were co-managed, with both tours in the same city at the same time, but on different properties.

The LET is once again proving it isn't shy about eschewing traditional tournament principles. Earlier this year, the LET presented its Turkish Airlines Ladies Open from Monday through Wednesday, landing rare live airtime on Golf Channel because the Tour was willing to play when professional golf usually rests.
