Aces have been contagious on the European Tour in 2015. There were another two recorded on Saturday in the third round of the KLM Open, breaking, then re-breaking the record for the most holes-in-one recorded in a single European Tour season.
Magnus Carlsson made the record-breaking 40th ace of the year on the 227-yard par-3 eighth hole at Kennemer Golf and Country Club in the Netherlands, surpassing the 39 carded in 2006. An hour later, Australian Wade Ormsby made the 41st hole-in-one on the campaign with a 7-iron from 169 yards at the 11th hole.
The new record falls short of the PGA Tour's mark of 44 in the 1994 season. So far in 2014-15, there have been 41 aces on the PGA Tour.
