2015 Barracuda Championship Monday qualifiers

Tom Johnson, Chris Gilman, Ben Geyer and Wil Collins have earned an opportunity to play in this week's Barracuda Championship, the opposite-field event played alongside the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational, through the Monday qualifier.

Johnson was medalist in the 18-hole event at Hidden Valley Country Club, shooting 8-under 64 to beat Gilman and Geyer by a shot each.

Wil Collins survived a three-for-one playoff for the last spot, beating Wes Homan and Jake Sarnoff after his 6-under 66 was good enough to force extra holes.

Johnson, a Northwestern product, made his first PGA Tour in eight years earlier this season, cashing at the Sony Open in Hawaii. It's been a long road back for the 33-year-old, who has been sober for two years now after confronting a drug and alcohol addiction.

The 28-year-old Gilman has faced a tough season on the Web.com Tour, making just three cuts in 14 starts.

Geyer, just 23, has faced an even more difficult year, making the money just once on the Web.com Tour in 2015, a T-48 start at the BMW Charity Pro-Am. The St. Mary's product won the eGolf Tour last year.

Collins has been a true journeyman in 2015. The 36-year-old has starts on the Web.com Tour, MacKenzie Tour and PGA Tour Latinoamerica, where he had his best finish with a T-13 check at the Mazatlan Open in March.
