2015 RBC Canadian Open Monday qualifiers

Justin Shin, David Mathis, Roberto Castro and Josh Teater all played their way into the 2015 RBC Canadian Open field, earning spots through the 18-hole Monday qualifier at Heron Point Golf Links.

Shin was the medalist at 7-under 64, while Mathis and Castro locked up second at 6-under 65. Teater, however, had to beat Eric Hawerchuk in a playoff for the fourth and final spot.

Shin plays on the MacKenzie Tour after making seven starts on the Web.com Tour last year. In three MacKenzie Tour starts in 2015, he has made two cuts with a top-10 finish. Shin played his college golf at New Mexico State.

The 41-year-old Mathis has not had a place to play this season. On the Web.com Tour, the North Carolina native has missed the cut in all four starts this season. He last had PGA Tour status in 2013, making just 12 cuts in 24 starts.

Castro, who was fairly high up on the alternate list this week, finished T-23 in last week's opposite-field event, the Barbasol Championship for his biggest paycheck of the season.

Teater, 36, has seen limited PGA Tour action this year, cashing in four of eight events. His best effort of the year came two weeks ago at the John Deere Classic, where he finished tied for 28th place.
