Win $500,000 in Wilson Golf’s driver design contest

Wilson Golf believes it may not have all the answers for the next great driver innovation, and that's why it's turning to the public for ideas and offering a $500,000 bounty to use them.

The company announced a driver design contest on Monday in tandem with a forthcoming Golf Channel show called "Driver vs. Driver." The show, which will air in Fall 2016, will put selected contestants against each other to identify a design that will be brought to life and sold under the Wilson Staff line in 2017.

"Wilson Golf has a long history of innovation alongside some of the best golfers who have ever played the game," said Wilson Golf president Tim Clarke in a release. "As we push golf innovation into new territories, we recognize that new ideas, materials, design elements and concepts can come from the most unexpected places, industries and people. This new television show is designed to celebrate the entrepreneurial and inventive spirit that is so important to our brand and mine the country for driver ideas that the Wilson Labs team can turn into reality."

Entrants need to submit a short video on the concept, explaining why the concept would work and fits the bill as innovative. The deadline to enter is Aug. 15.
