Rory McIlroy may have missed the cut at the Irish Open this week, but Cupid didn't miss his mark with girlfriend Erica Stoll.
Speaking publicly for the first time about the 29-year-old PGA of America employee, McIlroy told The Times Magazine (U.K., subscription), "I am very happy in my love life. We haven't really been putting it out there. She is from America, which is why I like to spend time in Palm Beach (in Florida)."
The pair first met at the 2012 Ryder Cup, when Stoll, who was working the biennial event, arranged for a police escort for McIlroy, who was running late for his Sunday singles tee time. The world No. 1 brought Stoll to the final round of the Irish Open on Sunday, where he presented the trophy to winner Soren Kjeldsen.

McIlroy ended his engagement with former world No. 1 tennis player Caroline Wozniacki in May 2014, telling her by phone that he wasn't ready for the commitment a successful marriage requires. He then went on to win The Open Championship and PGA Championship that summer, cementing his status as the world's top player.
The 26-year-old spent New Year's Eve with Stoll in Ireland and recently had a nice weekend with her in Rochester, N.Y.
"The past six or seven months have been really nice," McIlroy said. "That part of my life is going great."
