VIDEO: Matt Kuchar backhands chip shot on No. 17 at The Players

Matt Kuchar didn't have much choice. His tee shot to the par-3 17th at TPC Sawgrass landed right along the boards separating land from water at the short hole. He couldn't take a normal stance, at least without the possibility of falling back in the drink.

So after much thought and consternation, Kuchar decided, What the hell, let's hit it backwards. So Kuchar turned away from the hole, flipped his wedge over, put it in his right hand and swung straight back and through.

Kuchar got the ball in the air and onto the green with a clever shot. It didn't get close, and he made bogey, but that's one great effort.

The bogey put Kuchar on the wrong side of the cut line, and he'll miss the weekend.
