There's a trend in golf toward sexier photo shoots -- and not just with people connected to the sport outside the ropes.

Lexi Thompson has been pushing the boundaries of how women golfers present themselves, first appearing in a sultry swimsuit shoot for Golf Punk magazine, then appearing topless on the cover of Golf Digest's annual fitness issue.

Now you can add Ladies European Tour player Carly Booth to the list. Booth shared a picture on Instagram from a photo shoot with Golf Punk that has her posing in a Masters-like jacket, along with frilly lingerie. It appears she had a great time.

Thank you @golfpunk_magazine for a fun day 🙂 #GolfPunk #golf

A few pockets of the sport are struggling with the decision Thompson, Booth and the related magazines have made in publishing more scintillating photography. Some view it as exploitation. Some view it as appealing to the lowest common denominator to sell magazines or get clicks. The push back may be that this is a way of empowering women. There's a balance to be struck between athleticism and inherent sexuality.

However, maybe the best way to decide if something is "right" or isn't is to simply ask the person appearing in the pictures. If that makes you uncomfortable, then speak with your wallet. Don't visit a website or buy a magazine. Don't patronize a player's sponsors. That's your choice, just as is it Thompson's or Booth's -- or Rory McIlroy, who posed shirtless for the cover of Digest in April.
