Don't come to a golf tournament in sweatpants. Not even to TPC Scottsdale. But it's also a golf gallery faux pas to dress to the nines. No matter how good you look in a tuxedo and top hat, or a cocktail dress and obscenely high heels, it's a bad idea to turn cart paths into runways.
Except in Abu Dhabi.
The organizers of the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship are asking female tournament goers later this month to wear their nicest clothes to the Yas Links.
According to Abu Dhabi City Guide, "fashion scouts" will be looking for the "Best Dressed Lady" at the tournament. That person will win a trip to Bangkok, paid for by a few tournament sponsors. The criteria to win? Ladies who exude their own sense of personal style, glamour and confidence.
And maybe a sash to the winner?
