After missing the cut at the Irish Open on Friday, it might seem like Rory McIlroy would want to find a tournament to play between now and the 2013 Open Championship at Muirfield.
He would like to, but he can't find the time.
With the French Open and Scottish Open being played in the intervening three weeks until the Open, McIlroy would have two great events to get into form and feel less "lost" heading into the third major of the year. But his sponsor commitments, he said, preclude him from playing.
"I have got a couple of commitments next week and the week after as well," McIlroy said, according to The Guardian. "If I didn't have those couple of things to do over the next couple of weeks, I probably would have added an event."
McIlroy added the Valero Texas Open as an emergency start ahead of the Masters in April, backing out of a commitment to two-day humanitarian visit to Haiti as an ambassador for UNICEF.
