Using the GolfN app feels like you're in on a cheat code.
GolfN is a golf app that features a GPS, digital caddie and performance tracking all in a single app. With every round you play using the GolfN app, you can earn GolfN points that can be used in the GolfN Pro Shop to redeem (with or without cash) to get golf clubs, gear, accessories, memorabilia and more.
Just like with any other golf app, use the GPS with location services, enter your scores and look at the performance metrics. The difference? You're getting rewarded for sharing your data, as compared to other apps that get and use that data anyhow.
I've been using the app for a while now, complete with an optional Silver membership (get a free month of Silver membership with my promo code) that gets me up to 11 times the points I would get using the free membership tier. I've earned enough in eight rounds to nearly get a new Vessel golf bag from the GolfN Pro Shop.
You can use the promo code GNN for a free month of the silver-tier membership, earning 11x standard points and basically earning a dozen golf balls every time you play!
So far, I've racked up 13,702 GolfN points. The conversion is about 40 GolfN points to 1 US dollar.
In seven of my eight rounds, I've earned anywhere from around 900 to 1,400 points. From any one of those single rounds, I could redeem my points earned for a dozen Srixon Q-Star golf balls, a new golf glove or an Aqua Caddie tumbler. If I'm getting any of those things every time I play golf, I'm doing pretty well for myself.
However, when I played at a public course about an hour from my home, I earned a whopping 5,616 GolfN points. As a result of that round alone, I could purchase a dozen Srixon Z-Star Diamond golf balls, a Holderness and Bourne polo, a Jones Ranger shag bag, Puma Ignite Elevate golf shoes and a variety of additional apparel.
I could use those points to get any of several pairs of Oakley sunglasses valued at more than $200 for 8,560 GolfN points. I could get a Hyperice massage gun for 9,960 GolfN points.
If I wanted to splurge, I could get a new Miura forged wedge for 12,800 GolfN points or blow the balance on a new Cobra OPTM hybrid, worth $329.
That Vessel bag? I could get it with the next round I play using the app.
In other words, in just eight rounds of using GolfN, I've earned about $350 in rewards.
You can also earn GolfN points by checking in at driving ranges, pro shops and other app partners, earning points for off-course golf activities. For example, go to TopGolf, have a good time and upload a picture of the receipt to earn big. Head to a PGA Tour Superstore and do a little wish-shopping? You'll get GolfN points, earning at a higher rate with a Silver membership or above.
The Silver membership is $37.50 per month and gets up to 11 times points (get a free month with my promo code GNN). But, you can start with a White membership and earn up to 4.6 times points for $18.75 per month. You can even use the app for free and earn, but you'll earn faster with a membership.
If you wanted to earn way faster, the Gold membership offers 54 times points for $150 per month. Just doing some back-of-the-envelope math here, I would have 68,500 GolfN points if I were a Gold member, earning approximately $1,712 in value. I would be way ahead on the cost and could already have purchased a set of Srixon's latest irons, which are a $1,400 value.
