The 2026 US Open weather forecast looks to show some significant chance of windy conditions at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club on Thursday.
Thursday's first day of tournament action see partly cloudy conditions, though the temperatures will be in the mid-70s. There is a 50-50 chance of rain in the area, and that rain is likely to be part of a pattern of thunderstorms. However, the bigger problem is the wind, with gusts up to 30 mph and a steady wind out of the south that increases through the day. It's at least a two-club wind.
On Friday and Saturday, the forecast is good, with some cloud cover on Friday and mostly sunny conditions on Saturday. Temperatures remain in the same band, going to 75 on Friday and 80 on Saturday.
The Sunday weather forecast features some clouds, but, more importantly, the wind remains in the westerly direction at 12 miles per hour.
However, if the weather and timing of the week is thrown off such that the tournament would need to finish on Monday (and the USGA will do everything in their power to avoid that), the Monday weather forecast is poor, with a 70 percent chance of rain.
