2026 The CJ Cup Byron Nelson expert picks and rankings
1. Scottie Scheffler: Scheffler is the clear top pick here, both as defending champion and as the guy who keeps getting close in tournaments without his best stuff.
2. Aaron Rai: Rai could well wind up withdrawing from this event after winning the PGA, but he's on top of the world at the moment.
3. Si Woo Kim: Si Woo comes here year after year and plays exceptionally well. No reason to believe that won't continue after a good week at Aronimink.
4. Jordan Spieth: Spieth has played well enough this year to warrant the ranking, and he seems to often level up in the Texas events.
5. Ryo Hisatsune: Ryo found himself in contention at the PGA for a little while, and he's been fabulous throughout the year.

6. Matti Schmid: Schmid hung in there quite well in the pressure cooker of the final group at the PGA, and I think that'll mean good things for him in the long haul.
7. Michael Brennan: Assuming the course and setup changes here aren't drastic, Brennan should be able to plow down this course with his length.
8. Wyndham Clark: Clark is on the top 10 this week for the very same reason, that he can probably hit the ball almost anywhere and be fine.
9. Haotong Li: Li could enjoy a great week in Texas, hoping that the T-35 in the PGA Championship could be the sign of a turnaround.
10. Rasmus Hojgaard: It's been a decent year for Rasmus, though he has just one top-10 finish.
