Patty Tavatanakit is a contender in the final round of the 2026 Chevron Championship, looking to win a second major championship in Houston at Memorial Park. A win here would be Tavatanakit's second in this event.
Tavatanakit is 26 years old, and she has status on the LPGA Tour this season as a major champion, winning the former ANA Inspiration -- now known as The Chevron Championship -- in 2021, and then extending that.
This season, Tavatanakit had her best finish in the JM Eagle LA Championship, where she finished tied for fifth place.
For Tavatanakit, her journey to the LPGA Tour is a remarkable story.
Tavatanakit was born in Thailand. She went to UCLA for school and college golf.
Tavatanakit is hitting her prime
Patty Tavatanakit has been successful at every level, including as an amateur and after she turned pro in 2019. She joined the Epson Tour in 2019, then got to the LPGA Tour in 2020 as a result of the points list.
Tavatanakit won three times on the Epson Tour to get to the LPGA, but her big win was in that major breakthrough in California.
At the end of the LPGA season, Tavatanakit was ranked 42nd in Race to the CME Globe. She's currently ranked 66th in the Rolex Women's World Golf Ranking. She earned her way into the event through her status as a past champion.
What a win at The Chevron Championship means
With a win, Tavatanakit would earn the winner's share of 2026 Chevron Championship payout, taking home $1,350,000.
