Davis Riley is a leader in the final round of the 2026 Sony Open in Hawaii, the PGA Tour's first event of the year in the Aloha State. Carrying a lead heading into the final round, Riley could pick up a third win.

Riley is 29 years old, and he is in the field at Sony Open in Hawaii because he has status on the PGA Tour after finishing in the top 100 of last year's FedEx Cup standings.

For Riley, his journey to the PGA Tour is a remarkable story.

Riley was born in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He played college golf at the University of Alabama before making his way into the world of professional golf.

Riley is hitting his prime

Davis Riley has been successful at every level, including as an amateur and after he turned pro in 2019.

Riley won twice on the Korn Ferry Tour, and he's won twice on the PGA Tour since joining the circuit in 2022. He teamed up with Nick Hardy to win the 2023 Zurich Classic of New Orleans and held off Scottie Scheffler to win the 2024 Charles Schwab Challenge in Texas.

Entering this week, Riley was not yet ranked in FedEx Cup points and ranked 101st in the Official World Golf Ranking. He earned his way into this event through his status on the PGA Tour this season.

In his personal life, Riley is with his wife Alexandra.

What a win at the Sony Open in Hawaii means

With a win today, Riley would earn the benefits of being a PGA Tour winner, including a two-year PGA Tour exemption, and he would gain berths into the 2026 Masters and 2026 PGA Championship. And, according to the 2026 Sony Open in Hawaii payout, he would win $1.638 million to top it all off.
