Tiger Woods had a heck of a party favor for those fortunate enough to get invited to his 50th birthday bash.
At Woods' birthday party this week, which had its own set of sponsors and was put on by Woods' TGR Live events company, guests received one of 415 Upper Deck trading cards celebrating Woods.
The art card is inspired by the 2001 Upper Deck SP Authentic rookie card that Woods signed as his initial autograph cards. The drawing shows a bit of an updated look to Woods, with the 15-time major champion now wearing a Sun Day Red shirt that's much less baggy than what he wore in the photograph used for the card. In that photo, Woods is holding off a follow through on a wedge shot. That card still can command thousands of dollars in the open market.
The commemorative art card is signed by Woods with a gold-foil pen, and the cards are numbered to show their exclusive print run.
Just a few days after the party, none of the cards have shown up on eBay for purchase, as collectors would be wont to do if they had some of these in their possession. It's expected that these cards aren't going to find the open market, so don't plan on finding them for sale either online or at your local card shop. However, if you knew the right people and had the right amount of cash, one of these truly unique cards could be yours.
